Get a look inside Lindenwold's practices, where they run drills and small-sided situations to sharpen their fundamental skills and get game ready.
A major focus of Coach Jimmy Lange in the pre-season is to make sure his defense can execute and make sound decisions while tired. This includes individual skills, like proper approaches and breaking down correctly, to team concepts, such as evaluating slides and communicating recoveries. In these early Spring practices, you will get an inside look at how the team prepares for the upcoming season and addresses these fundamental skills.
In drills, such as the Salisbury Drill, Coach Lange focuses on good positional defense, slides and recovery. This drill focuses on both the team and the individual components of playing good defense. Coach Lange covers how to dictate where to force offensive players, and how to slide hard and communicate the recovery when needed.

Incorporating fast-paced and competitive drills, Coach Lange addresses fundamental skills, and forces his players to execute while tired and do the little things that add up to offensive success. In order to assure that his players are progressing during these early practices, Lange demonstrates drills in which his offense gets maximum reps and touches in live drills that mimic game-like action in both settled and transition play.
With a focus on fast paced play, Lange's players engage in a two-sided 4v3 drill which involves the whole team and teaches the offense to move the ball quickly and really make the defense work. By playing fast in this mini game, offensive players get lots of reps in a fast-paced competitive drill and learn proper decision making with quick ball movement. All of Lange's featured drills focus on creating offensive advantages, making quick decisions and breaking down defenses with good off-ball movement.
Identifying advantages on offense requires quick ball movement to capitalize on those advantages. Coach Lange's practice plan features several drills, all of which re enforce fundamental stick work and small sided situations which force his players to execute while tired and prepares them for live game situations.
